Our Favorite Plant Butters and Their Benefits

Plant Butters - Mango Butter Kokum Butter Cocoa ButterAs the name suggests, plant butters are the thick, fatty substances extracted from the kernels, nuts, and seeds of plants. They are dense emollients, generally solid at room temperature, that carry an abundance of skin-fortifying nutrients that can hydrate even the most damaged skin types.

Plant butters can fall under one of two categories: refined and unrefined. Refined butters undergo special processing to help remove any impurities left behind during the extraction process. It also helps neutralize any strong odors and remove natural coloring or texture to create a smoother butter that is consistent to use throughout different products.

Unrefined plant butters are kept in their rawest form, which helps retain the butters’ texture, color, and aroma. Its nutritive value is also preserved, making unrefined butters the preferred alternative to utilize in our products.
